This fall's event will be held September 20th at the Artisphere in Rosslyn, Virginia and will be a juried competition and charity benefit in which local design firms partner with industry manufacturers creating high fashion. We are excited to include Baltimore design firms in the competition this year.
Theme: This year's design inspiration comes from the enigmatic Red Starpainting by Raymond Saunders, which is part of the contemporary collection at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. It bridges an urban experience reminiscent of graffiti with its powerful fields of vibrant color, calligraphy marks, stenciled numbers and a huge red star.
Beneficiary: My Sister's Place, Inc., the largest and oldest non-profit agency exclusively serving battered women and their children in the District of Columbia.
