ECOVATIONS is made from the scrap created by shaping of reclaimed wood for flooring and timber products. These scraps are refined and untized using a plywood backing (an FSC certified plywood can be specified). Even taking into account the plywood, the finished product is over 75% post-consumer content.
The panels are 12x48" in size, and vary in the price range of $40-45 per panel, depending largely on species and finishing. On the subject of finishes, the manufacturer can employ any of the standard Sherwin Williams stains.
If a particular aesthetic or tone is required; that can not be achieved using reclaimed wood, scrap from the company's standard wood flooring line (virgin lumber) can also be used, and would qualify as 75% post-industrial content.
In previewing the product to a designer, the question of fire-rating came up, and the manufacturer comfirmed that the standard fire classification is B, according to ASTM E 84, but that it can also be treated to achieve a Class A rating.
