INSULATION GR.  Foamed in place LD-R-50 insulation is formulated using castor oil, which helps
deliver up to 50 percent in energy savings, according to the
manufacturer. Castor beans are a rapidly renewable material: They are a
net carbon absorber (every pound of castor oil equals a reduction of
nearly 3.5 pounds of CO2); and castor plants do not require irrigation
and can be grown on marginal land not suitable for many food crops. The
material is 100 percent water-blown, and free from HFCs and PBDEs Open cell polyurethene produced with water or CO2 as the blowing agent. Open cell uses less material and saves energy leakage.
