Our lead librarian, Lynne Boyle, had been hearing rumors that the carpet manufacturer, NOOD was potentially going out of business. So she picked up the phone and called them directly to get the scoop. The service representative informed Lynne that there were minimums of 2500 sq/yds for solution dyed product and 5000 sq/yds for piece dyed product. Lynne asked if these minimums meant that the company was "winding down" their operations, and the representative replied that this was a "good way to put it." This is not as "official" as we would like, but with the relatively recent and sudden collapse of Blueridge, we would like designers to be aware of what Lynne learned.
