Did You Really Specify Green

For a large number of products that possess sustainable/green characteristics, there is an almost identical product that lacks these same attributes.  It has gotten better lately, but am curious to know if anyone has recently encountered a situation in which they thought they were specifying a "green" product, only to later find out that they got a non-green or less-green version of the product because they were never aware of the need to spec out the product carefully.  If you have had a recent experience like this, perhaps you could share it with us to save some pain for someone else.
